Get it, got it, good! This is how the pros manage live performance material in Ableton -- the Clip Pack! This is the key ingredient for Live Performance in Ableton.

This under taught and under supported key concept is put out for all to learn. I have no interest in joining the ranks of the various instruction sources out there, trust me.

Like all my tutorial videos I cover the important stuff or the holes left by the mainstream channels.

Plus we need this well explained for our projects.

Enjoy!

I just got 2 (yes 2) M-Audio MIDISport 1×1 units for a sync need coming up here in life. Let’s talk about why I have so many issues with companies.

Before I start, let me say that M-Audio is a no-no company for me, but I broke my rules. I paid with time and frustration, here’s the synopsis.

This tweet underscores why M-Audio people should be hosed down in public with a firehose. From the manual :

“looks like ‘a cube of Jello, rising out of a cardboard box”

That is a quote describing the (outdated) icon for installing the driver.

The bottom line is that M-Audio does nto tell you what the product does, anywhere. The 1×1 MIDISport will send out MTC (MIDI Time Code) but can not receive or read MTC. I was only able to figure this out scraping forums for a few hours.

WTF, M-Audio you are dishonest bastards.

Also, in OSX it is a good idea to use the “re-scan MIDI” function in the core audio control panel. That is how MTC out actually “hooks”.

Next, the various media from M-Audio claims plug and play class compliant MIDI device. Uh, no. Much of the functionality is hidden in the driver you need to install.

WTF, M-Audio you are dishonest bastards

I could go on and on. M-Audio is no better than all the other companies out there sending out a steady stream of shit, lies, and under support. I am more than happy to pay real $ for real product.
