On Sunday 20April2012 I will be presenting and breaking down my current LivePA rig for a workshop (details and registration). This workshop will cover the physical and digital aspects fo this idea. I have over $20,000 in gear rotated through this build in the past few years. Currently I am at a happy plateau of great tone, fun to play, light, versatile, and awesome.
One of the main leaps forward is the use of a FMR Audio RNC compressor that is getting signal from Ableton and side chaining the (all analog) signal.
The all analog signal is a Dave Smith Tetra > Soundcraft Notepad 102 > Aphex 102 Optical Compressor > EHX Memory Boy Delux Delay > RNC
Take a look at the signal flow
Audio Sample with notes in line :
The whole rig – smaller than 2 turntables.
New Track! While working with some new ideas and sample packs this fell together rather quickly as a base line for live performance (platter) and a great source of self-referencing (re)mix material.
I anticipate more to come form this track as well as a kick as live set (platter).
I put this together to support this video, this is a newer and more complete version.
Enjoy!
Details available at Soundcloud.
Just keeping a list of remix resources, a focus on free, I will update as I find more. Special thanks to the many friends on Facebook helping out!

After a year+ of design, testing, buying and selling of gear I finally found the exact balance of control, sound, expression, and fun I was looking for!
This has been trapped in my head for a very long time (decades) and just this last week I got it all under control!
Many people have a sound or melody that rattles around in their head. I have had this particular type of control bouncing up against the walls of my brain for a very long time. This post, video, and product is the beginning of final refinement of a stand alone buffer / real time vinyl emulator that can be applied to any instrument.
Although far from perfect, this is still the largest leap forward for my musical (control) ideas so far. I look forward to the next accomplishment!

What a great summer 2011! I am still playing out - just a little less for the Fall+Winter. I excited to launch some new projects and work on R&D including some new technical releases. I am invested in workshops and completing my book on controllerism - it is looking awesome!
