Moog Slim Phatty, DSI Tetra, Syntopia syndication, and Ableton as a control Voltage source

That is a ton for one post, but it all goes together.

The DSI Prophet 08 is O-U-T! Long list, we broke up.  So for the value of the P08 I got a Moog Slim Phatty (rack version of the Phatty) and a Dave Smith Instruments Tetra.

The Slim Phatty is monophonic and hold a much better bass line.  Additionally, I am IN LOVE with the wave form knob (anyone else have this feature?)

The DSI Tetra was chosen for 2 simple reasons -- I chord (4 note poly) and the size (real tiny).

So the unboxing I placed over here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/48050910@N07/sets/72157625328392543/with/5201397181/

Mark Mosher via Modulate this put a post up over here : http://www.modulatethis.com/2010/11/analog-synth-unboxing-moog-slim-phatty-dave-smith-tetra.html and this http://www.modulatethis.com/2010/11/using-ableton-to-provide-control-voltage-for-a-moog-slim-phatty.html

And then Synthopia picked up his post over here : http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2010/11/27/synth-unboxing-moog-slim-phatty-dave-smith-tetra/

So there you go.

Now for the real heavy sho-izzz (feel free to substitute for your favorite slang).

In short here was the hypothesis : Will line level voltage perform as a control voltage parameter?

I asked a few people and no one understood what I wanted to do.  So I just bought the Slim Phatty blind hoping to exploit the CV inputs (filter, volume, pitch and a keyboard gate as well).

Well, it worked, very well. Better than I thought.  Here’s the video explaining the what and how!

The Rig is ON!

Swapping synths out! Woot! Here is a few photogs of the new units! More soon!
