Mechanical Light Experiement #1

Mechanical Light you say? Yes!

In short, I am chasing interesting (live) visual effects using mechanical methods. There are so many and they take NO CPU.  Here’s the “classic” example of a mechanical light effect:

Hot glue a small mirror to a medium or larger speaker and bounce a laser bean off of the mirror. When the speaker is playing (music) the movement and reflection of the laser (the pattern) will reflect the sound

Simple huh?

Well here is a short video using a cheap kaleidoscope and a cell phone camera:
